The Gaming Experiment

When I was a kid, I was a huge fan of wrestling. Not this new WWE garbage, but back when it was called WWF, it was fantastic. I loved Bret 'The Hitman' Hart, or Mr. Perfect or Hulk Hogan.

Gamefly was having a great deal on some used games, and I was able to pick up Legends of Wrestlemania for $13 shipped. No I can play as a fighter in some of the biggest matches in Wrestlemania history.

In late September, I was able to pick up Dead Space Extraction. This is a prequel to last year's sleeper hit Dead Space. The big difference is that Extraction is a Wii exclusive and a light gun rail shooter.

This game has received a lot of praise, but unfortunately only sold 9,000 copies according to the NPD Group. Now, the game was only out for 5 days or so. I hope that October shows more love to the game, because the Wii could more mature titles for the hardcore group of players.

One of the best reviewed games of last year, Fallout 3, was released last week in a Game of the Year edition. Last year, when Fallout 3 was originally released, I missed it because the fall had already been pretty packed.

Since Fallout 3's release, there have been five DLC packs that progressed the world further into this post apocalypitc world. The Game of the Year edition includes all 5 pieces of DLC right on the disc, so I wasn't able to pass this deal up.

I have a bunch of friends that really enjoyed both the game, and the added DLC content.

A benefit of the TRU B2G1 free sale was Double Fine's second game, Brütal Legend! Helmed by the always great Tim Schafer.

Heavy Metal, Double Fine, and Jack Black. Sounds like an interesting start to a game.

Over the last couple weeks, I've been keeping an eye on the game deals, and there have been some great one, with the Toys R Us sale, and weekly sales at other retailers.

I haven't been able to post a bunch of them, so let's start off with one of my most anticipated games of the year...Uncharted 2!

Last night I went to a midnight opening for the new Halo 3 game, Halo 3: ODST. It was a lot of fun to meet other like-minded people, but I was really tired when I got home, so I didn't get a chance to play.

Now I need to play. Did you pick it up?

A new DS game came out this week, Scribblenauts is an action puzzle game by 5th Cell. What really makes the game cool is that to solve the puzzles by writing the words on the screen, and that object populates the puzzle. Whats even more amazing is that the games dictionary has over 20,000 words.

This game looks really great. Check out the great reviews so far.
